When did you start your practice in Bermuda? I started practicing March 1st 2009 at the Bermuda Integrative Health Cooperative.
How long have you been a homeopath? I started supervised clinical practice in 2005 and have been practicing solely as a qualified homeopath since 2007.
Why did you choose to open a practice in Bermuda? I came to Bermuda due to an employment transition for my husband. It was difficult for me to leave behind my budding homeopathic practice in PA but after some research and conversing with some friendly Bermudians I knew there would be a great opportunity here for me to continue in my passion of helping people heal homeopathically. So far, I have to say it has been a very inspiring transition for me as many people of Bermuda have already welcomed this healing modality.
What is your designation in homeopathy ie/ doctor, masters..? I am a graduate from the four year program at the School of Homeopathy New York. Shortly after graduation I became certified in Classical Homeopathy by the Council for Homeopathic Certification in North America (CCH). I also hold an undergraduate degree in Art & Design from St. Cloud State University which nicely compliments my practice as Homeopathy is equally an art as it is a science.
How will your local practice work? ie/ people should come when they have an ailment, regularly when they are well? Homeopathy welcomes a client at any stage in their pathology. If it is a chronic complaint, constitutional treatment is needed which consists of a full two hour intake while the homeopath understands the whole mental, emotional and physical being. I do offer an acute clinic for illnesses that are 'one off' situations or not suffered on a regular basis. The acute consult takes around 30 minutes as a smaller totality is looked at and can be taken over the phone if needed. Even if someone is not 'physically' ill, but feeling 'out of sorts', homeopathy can work to improve their mental and emotional well being. As all realms are connected, being healthy in one area will help prevent symptoms in another.
What types of
conditions do you treat?
While focusing on the individual, homeopathy
has extensive healing potentials that encompass
a wide range of acute and chronic
conditions. Although almost any type of
physical or emotional problem can benefit from
homeopathic treatment, it is important to note
that certain situations may affect your
prognosis such as the length of time you have
been unwell, the conditions you suffer from and
the degree to which your symptoms have been
suppressed with drugs, radiation and/or
surgery. It is important to note that
homeopathic
remedies are prescribed by symptoms rather than
conditions, as each case of a particular illness
can manifest differently in different people.
As homeopathic remedies
gently stimulate the body’s innate healing
power, they are very safe for infants, children,
sensitive people, the elderly and pregnant
women. By
no means is homeopathy limited to the following
illnesses, but these are some of the presenting
complaints that I have worked with so far:
ADD/ADHD, depression, migraines, allergies,
asthma, pneumonia, chronic sinus infections,
strep throat, conjunctivitis, psoriasis, eczema,
shingles, acid reflux, IBS, ulcerative colitis,
Crohns, hemorrhoids, UTI, chronic back pain, HPV,
chronic fatigue, influenza, thrush, menstrual
disorders, endometriosis, ovarian cysts and
mastitis.
