Yoga is a 5,000 year old practice that holds much value in life today. Yoga, which originated in ancient India, is a spiritual study of self awareness. Yoga is for anyone and it's never too late to start. Yoga means 'union' or 'harmony' and the goal is self realization. This is an ancient spiritual science that has much value in the modern world. Regardless of the particular style that you practice or religion that you follow, yoga reaches all aspects of our being; physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.

Guidelines for Practicing Yoga

• Practice yoga on an empty stomach. Allow at least 2 hours after a meal.
• Wear comfortable, unrestrictive clothing (e.g. tracksuit). Belts, jewelry and shoes should be removed.
• Practice in a quiet and well ventilated place using a mat or blanket to lie on.
• Switch off mobile phone
• Practice each asana with complete attention & concentration.
• If it is challenging for you to perform certain yogic exercises on the basis of physical limitation (e.g. stiffness) or other problems, then leave the exercise out.
• If the correct performance of an exercise is difficult for you initially, be patient and work with it. Hold the position for a while, as well as you can, and then try it again. Everything takes time.
